| Advice |
Advice is any counsel or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of club or method of making a stroke. Information on the Rules or on matters of public information, such as the position of hazards or the flagstick on the putting green, is not advice.
Be aware: Players shall not engage in conversation with spectators. Conversations with spectators may be construed as advice and the player may be subject to a penalty. |
| Deciding Ties |
USGA method of matching cards is to determine the winner on the basis of the best score for the last nine holes. If the tying players have the same score for the last nine, determine the winner on the basis of the last six holes, last three holes and finally the 18th hole. |
| Discontinuance of Play |
Any sign of lightening should be reported to a G.O.L.F. official immediately. It is the official’s responsibility to suspend play with two short horn blasts and resume play with one long sustained blast. Play must be suspended immediately. Mark your golf ball and take shelter. It is our intention to complete an event on the day it is scheduled, we will, therefore, do everything possible to complete a tournament, including reducing the number of holes in a stipulated round. A stipulated round, defined my G.O.L.F. is the last hole that everyone in the age division has completed. All players failing to restart after the delay will be disqualified. |
| Dress Code |
All players are expected to ear proper golf attire at all times. Collared shirts are required and must remain tucked in throughout play. Tank tops, jean pants or jean shorts and cut-off are prohibited. If hats are worn, they should be worn in the proper manner, bill forward, at all times. You will be playing quality facilities and how you dress affects both your own, our sponsors, and the tour’s image, so please dress accordingly. Not adhering to this dress code is a violation of the code of conduct. |
| Electronic Devices |
All electronic rangefinders that are approved by the USGA are valid for tour events. Please check with the USGA's approved device list to verify if yours is approved. |
| Embedded Ball |
A ball embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground in any closely mown area through the green may be lifted, cleaned and dropped, without penalty, as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green. "Closely mown are" means any are of the course, including paths through the rough, cut ot fairway height or less. |
| Pace of Play |
G.O.L.F. officials will administer the pace of play. Every effort should be made for each group of three to finish in less than 4 hours and 15 minutes. Players will be given written pace of play regulations at every tournament. These exact regulations, times, and penalties are according to the USGA Rules of Golf, given to make the player aware of his/her obligation to the pace.
PLEASE NOTE:
tee times: Tee times will be established prior to the events and made available to you ONLY on our website. As stated in Rule 6, it is the players responsibility to know the conditions under which the competition is to be played and that includes being at the tee and ready to play at your starting time. If you arrive within 5 minutes of your designated starting time you may play with a two stroke penalty. Arriving more than 5 minutes after your established time will result in disqualification. G.O.L.F. reserves the right to adjust your tee time by 18 minutes without notification, any more than 18 minutes and you will be notified. |
| Practice Between Holes |
In Stroke play, between the play of two holes, a player shall not play any practice strokes on or near the putting green of the hole last played. If a practice stroke is played on or near the putting green of the hole last played the player shall incur a penalty of Two Strokes at the next hole, except that in the case of the last hole of the round, he incurs the penalty at that hole. |
| Rule 3-3 |
In Stroke play, if a competitor is doubtful of his rights or the correct procedure during the play of a hole, the player may, without penalty, complete the hole with two balls. After the doubtful situation has arisen and before taking further action, the competitor must announce to his marker or a fellow-competitor that he intends to play two balls and which ball he wishes to count if the Rules permit. If he fails to do so, the provisions of Rule 3-3(ii) apply. The competitor must report the facts of the situation to the Committee before returning his scorecard. If he fails to do so, his is DISQUALIFIED! |
| Spectator & Caddy Policies |
Parents and spectators are welcome at all G.O.L.F. events. However, contestants and spectators (which includes parents) are reminded of Rule 8 concerning advice that carries with it a 2 stroke penalty. For this reason, all spectators are required to stay at least 30 yards from the contestants at all times. We ask that you please follow in front of the players so that you are not in range of the group behind you and can help spot balls for the group you are following. However, while helping to look for lost balls the no communication policy is still in affect. No talking with the contestant is permitted on the course at any time. First offense is a two stroke penalty; second offense is disqualification. There is no warning; the warning is the Spectators’ Notice the competitor will receive at each event. Please refrain from using cellular phone and beepers while on the golf course.
powered carts or caddies
The use of powered carts is prohibited by all players and Gallery members unless otherwise noted in Event Format. Pulls carts may be used and are the sole responsibility of the competitor.
Caddies are allowed at all TACS events. Once a caddy begins a round of 18 holes they must finish as a caddy.
Spectator Cart Use
Due to inquiries made about cart use for disabled spectators, we are updating our policy.
Now, those individuals with permanent disabilities/handicap are allowed to use carts to watch the event.
The following guidelines will apply.
- the individual must provide G.O.L.F. with documentaiton (license sticker, placard) pertaining to their permanent handicap.
- cart rental is based entirely on the golf course policy where the particular event is being held
- each individual is limited to cart rental to 2 times per season
- the individual must request the cart one week prior to the event date in written form (E-Mail, Fax, Mail). The request must include a photocopy of the handicap license/placard.
Please note that only 3 carts are available per event to be rented, therefore it is important to get your requests in as early as possible.
By not following these guidelines, spectator carts will not be issued. |
| Time of Starting |
Rule 6-3
The player must start at the time established by the Committee.
Note:
The Committee may provide in the conditions of a competition (Rule 33-1) that, if the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his/her starting time, in the absence of circumstances that warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the first hole instead of disqualification. |
| Water/Lateral Hazards |
Water hazards are defined by yellow stakes or yellow lines.
Lateral water hazards are defined by red stakes or red lines.
When both stakes and lines are used to define water and lateral water hazards, the stakes identify the hazards and the lines define the margins of the hazards. Both stakes and lines are considered to be in the hazards. |
